As the owner/manager of a business or organization, as an employer, or as a municipality you have a role to play in supporting breastfeeding and creating breastfeeding friendly places.
The Ontario Human Rights Code requires employers to ensure
the work environment is free from discrimination related to breastfeeding and requires employers to accommodate employee needs for breastfeeding and expressing breastmilk.
The employee and the employer need to collaborate on
the arrangements to permit the parent to breastfeed or express
breastmilk upon their return to work.
