Water Bottle Pick-up and Sample Drop-off Locations

HOW TO GET WATER TEST RESULTS IN THE EVENT OF A POSTAL STRIKE:

There are several ways to get your results: By telephone, email, or pick up at the laboratory.

Click: Get and understand your results.

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit will be closed Wednesday, December 25, 2024, Thursday, December 26, 2024, and Wednesday, January 1, 2025.

Private water samples will be accepted at health unit offices until Monday, December 23, 2024.  Regular services will resume on Thursday, January 2, 2025.

Private water samples can also be dropped off directly at the Public Health Ontario Laboratory in Orillia, up to and including Thursday, December 19, 2024.

PLEASE NOTE:

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit and the Public Health Ontario Lab are separate agencies. Water samples that are not received by the public health lab within 48 hours will not be tested. The health unit’s courier service may take up to 24 hours to deliver water samples to the public health lab. Collect your water sample as close to the time of delivery as possible to avoid delays in testing.

Water samples are NEVER ACCEPTED ON FRIDAYS at any health unit office; however, MAY BE dropped off directly at the Public Health Laboratory (see below for location).

The health units Orillia office and 80 Bradford Street, Barrie office DO NOT accept water bottle drop offs.

The times below may vary for holiday closures, so if in doubt, call Health Connection at 705-721-7520 or 1-877-721-7520.

Public Health Ontario Laboratories do not test for other contaminants such as chemicals or minerals. If you would like to test your water for other environmental contaminants, please contact a private licensed laboratory.
