Well baby visits are defined by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (2011) as the "periodic assessment of a well newborn/infant during the first two years of life including complete examination with weight and measurements, and instructions to the parents or the patient's representative regarding health care."
New information and recommendations are given for growth monitoring, nutrition, developmental surveillance, physical examination maneuvers, immunization schedules, and advice for parents. Resources included in the section are available to assist Health Care Practitioners in making the most of these visits.
