Back to School Clinics for School Aged Children and Youth

The start of a new school year is just around the corner and the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) is holding immunization clinics to help school aged children and youth (age 4 to 18) Catch Up, Keep Up and Stay on Track with routine immunizations that may have been missed during the pandemic.

Appointments for these immunization clinics are required and can be booked online or by calling Health Connection at 1-877-721-7520 (toll free) or 1-705-721-7520, Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You will need to book a separate appointment for each child being immunized.

As per the Immunization of School Pupils Act  and the Child Care and Early Years Act, parents and caregivers are required to report all immunizations to the health unit so we can ensure your child's record is up to date. Please note that in Ontario health care providers do not automatically report immunizations to their local public health unit.

If you aren't sure whether your child is up to date on certain vaccinations, you can view your child's immunization record that is on file at the health unit online. If your child received immunizations from another health care provider that you have not reported to us yet, they will not appear in this record. You can also contact your health care provider to request a record of up-to-date immunizations.
