Mercury Content in Fish

Canada’s Food Guide recommends eating at least 2 servings of fish each week (total of 150 grams or 5 ounces) because of the heart healthy fats and other beneficial nutrients. However, there are some concerns about mercury content in some types of fish. See Health Canada’s Mercury in Fish Consumption Advice: Making Informed Choices about Fish for detailed information and advice.
