Cutline: Lori Black (right), a personal service worker on the frontline caring for vulnerable seniors at Victoria Village, a long-term care home in Barrie, is the first person in Simcoe Muskoka to be immunized against COVID-19. She received the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday December 22, 2020 from Deanna Thompson, manager of the immunization program at the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) at the COVID-19 Immunization Clinic on Sperling Drive in Barrie. The clinic is a partnership of SMDHU, the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre and the City of Barrie. Priority groups will be the first to be immunized by invitation only in the first phase of the roll out of the vaccine.
