Breastfeeding Websites
A few examples of breastfeeding web sites recommended by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit:
INFACT Canada

INFACT Canada is an organization that supports breastfeeding families
with important breastfeeding information. INFACT also produces and distributes
educational resources to assist health care providers and members of the
public to support and promote breastfeeding.
La Leche League International
http://www.lalecheleague.org
La Leche League aims to help mothers breastfeed through mother-to-mother
support, encouragement, information and education. The site includes information
about La Leche League as well as breastfeeding information for mothers
and health professionals.
Motherisk
http://www.motherisk.org
Motherisk provides evidence-based information on the safety or risk of
drugs, chemicals and disease during pregnancy and breastfeeding. There
are newsletters, links and fact sheets available on this site.
Breastfeeding Committee for Canada
http://www.breastfeedingcanada.ca
The Breastfeeding Committee for Canada is the National Authority for the
WHO/UNICEF Baby-Friendly"! Hospital Initiative (BFHI) in Canada.
There are many places in Simcoe County where we can refer pregnant or parenting families for breastfeeding information and support.
There are also many pamphlets, books, videos and websites that provide reliable, up-to-date information.
It is important for agencies who provide service to pregnant and breastfeeding women to be Baby-Friendly.
