Population Estimates

The population estimates are based on the census counts adjusted for net under-coverage. The data used are population estimates by single year of age (up to 90+) and sex for Ontario’s Census Subdivisions (CSD), as of July 1, 1986-2016.

• The latest update to the population estimates are final intercensal up to 2015, final postcensal for 2016 to 2020, updated postcensal for 2021 and preliminary postcensal for 2022.

Unless stated otherwise, population estimates are used as the population denominator in most dashboards.
