BARRIE – Residents in the neighbourhood around 90 Mulcaster Street in Barrie are being invited to an open house on May 15 to learn about the supervised consumption site (SCS) proposed for that address.
Earlier this month, the decision was made to locate the proposed SCS at 90 Mulcaster Street in Barrie, a building owned by the Canadian Mental Health Association Simcoe Branch.
It is a drop-in event that takes place on Wednesday, May 15, between 5 and 8 p.m. at Collier Street United Church in the Fellowship Hall.
The site is planned as one of the harm reduction measures in the Simcoe Muskoka Opioid Strategy.
Information at the open house will cover:
- location requirements
- site plan
- care pathways
- policies and procedures
- neighbourhood safety.
For more information about the supervised consumption site, visit www.smdhu.org/scs or call Health Connection at 1-877-721-7520 or 705-721-7520.
