Public Health Inspectors conduct inspections of all PSS businesses to assess and enforce compliance with Ontario Regulation 136/18 - Personal Service Settings.
The Personal Service Settings Guideline, 2019 provides additional information in implementing and interpreting the requirements in the regulation.
Owners and operators of personal service settings in Simcoe Muskoka must provide written notification to the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit 14 days before:
- Opening a new personal service setting;
- Changing the location of an existing personal service setting;
- Starting the renovation or reconstruction of an existing personal service setting; or,
- Providing additional services in an existing personal service setting.
“The Health Unit collects personal information in the course of doing business. Personal information about you is collected directly from you or from the person acting on your behalf. Personal health information collected may include, for example, your name, date of birth, address, contact information, health card number, health history, and information you provide during visits or calls to the health unit.”
