Climate Change Exchange

About The Simcoe Muskoka Climate Change Exchange

The Simcoe Muskoka Climate Change Exchange (CCE) is a regional collaborative network that supports local climate change action in Simcoe Muskoka. The CCE works to improve community resilience to climate change and reduce negative outcomes and inequities associated with climate change. The CCE was initiated by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit to help build capacity and foster collaboration and information exchange among member organizations to collectively advance climate adaptation and mitigation strategies and actions.

Vision:

To be the current of transformation for a connected, sustainable community that is resilient to climate change.

Mission:

Guiding principles are overarching themes of climate action that guide the work of the CCE. Health and equity considerations are intended to be integrated into all aspects of climate action. By integrating health and equity, we are working to ensure that climate actions will help to improve health, well-being, and equity outcomes for all.

Guiding Principles

The CCE has created this Climate Change Charter to support collaboration and unite the region in a common goal of climate action so that all people and communities are resilient and adaptive to the changing climate while simultaneously promoting health, wellbeing, equity, and sustainability. The Climate Change Charter is intended to be a living document that will continue to reflect the urgency, priorities, and climate action across the region.
