Barriers to Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding must be addressed with all pregnant women because many women will not ask questions about breastfeeding during their pregnancy. Breastfeeding promotion for women, particularly those who are at risk of not breastfeeding, must address lifestyle issues and other factors which may be barriers to breastfeeding for them.
