Immunizations help protect pregnant individuals against serious illness during pregnancy and also protect their baby's health during the first few months following birth.
Routine immunizations in pregnancy include:
- Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis (Tdap) - ideally between 27 and 32 weeks of gestational age, but can be given anytime
- Fall (Seasonal) Vaccines-Please see the sections below for specific recommendations
Most vaccines are available through your health care provider who are familiar with your medical history and risks. Some vaccinations can also be available at your local pharmacy. If you do not have a health care provider or your health care provider does not provide certain vaccinations, you can book an appointment online at one of our health unit offices:
If you prefer to book an appointment over the phone, please call call Health Connection at 1-877-721-7520 (toll free) or 1-705-721-7520, Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
