LESSON #4
PROTECTING, PROMOTING AND SUPPORTING BREASTFEEDING

Image of Mouse and cheese As we know giving breastfeeding babies formula in the first 4-6 weeks can reduce a mother's milk supply and her confidence. Research shows that early introduction of infant formula leads to a shorter duration of breastfeeding and, as a result, the benefits of breastfeeding for both mother and baby are reduced. Keep in mind, "There is always free cheese in a mousetrap!"

Try This: Have a look at pregnancy and parenting magazines available in your community, and count how many advertisements there are for formula, nipples, bottles, pacifiers and baby clubs.
